Come learn how to develop a variety of (Black & White) film types using an eco-friendly developer made of instant coffee, vitamin c, washing soda and table salt. All supplies (including cameras and film) provided, and no experience necessary.

Our Zoom instalment of our international collaboration with Art Club Frome in Somerset, UK! Zoom on in for relaxed art-making on a secret theme to be announced at the start of the session. The only rule is MAKE.
SURREALIST SCREENWRITING
In this 3-hour workshop, we’ll explore the history of surrealism, examples from cinema history, and the art world. Then we will practice surrealist writing through different exercises like automatic writing and found objects to unlock our impulses, imagination, and connections to the unconscious. Putting it together in a final project, we’ll share our scenes on their feet through collaborative ensemble work!
LBCMA Film Club: An Evening of 16mm FIlms with 3TON Cinema
3TON cinema is an itinerant microcinema and 16mm film “orphanage” founded in 2009 in Oakland, CA. With their collection of roughly 1,001 ephemeral titles from the twentieth century, they seek to bring small-gauge analog cinema into the future in unexpected ways.
LES ENCYCLOPEDIETTES: PROSE AND IMAGE, YOUR WAY
With special guest artist and flaneûr, Bill Pechet. Come 'round to make a small volume: random bits of information using original encyclopedia pages, re-ordered and re-imagined. You can also make blank books for doodles, recipes, poetry and manifestos!
It’s Alive! A Hands-On DIY 16mm Cameraless Animation Workshop
What is cameraless animation you ask? It’s a super fun and liberating technique where footage is produced by creating the images directly on film stock using pens, paint, stickers, flowers, paper, plastic bags, glitter or whatever else your creative mind can conceive. So ditch the camera and start animating!
